Friday Fun Feature: Magnoodle and Pencils of Promise

Posted by aMuse Toys on May 24, 2013 0 Comments

Magnoodle is a 21st Century spin on the classic friendship bracelet. 12 Magnets on one cord makes for some twist-able, snap-able, funky & freestyle jewelry.

When the bracelets arrived at aMuse Toys we were excited for this free spirited piece. It's perfect in a birthday gift or camp care package.

Some of us were unfamiliar with Magnoodle before its arrival, so we decided to check out the company online. In doing so, we discovered Pencils of Promise.

Our collective "Oh, cool!" became an "Oh, wow."

Pencils of Promise is an award winning non-profit organization that works to ensure all children receive a quality education. The organization works with communities around the world to build schools and train teachers. Pencils of Promise has built over 120 schools around the world!

So, how are Magnoodle and Pencils of Promise connected?

Magnoodle is an official sponsor of Pencils of Promise which means for every Magnoodle bracelet purchased, a contribution is made to the world's children. If you'd like to learn more about Magnoodle or Pencils of Promise, come talk to us at either our Fells Point or Quarry Lake location.

We love chatting about a good cause!

National Autism Awareness Month: Likes 4 Tikes!

Posted by aMuse Toys on April 14, 2013 0 Comments

In participation with Melissa & Doug and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, we are giving away toys!

April is National Autism Awareness Month and we are incredibly inspired by our many friends of aMuse that have some connection to a child on the Autism spectrum. What better way to honor the true meaning of this month then by celebrating these individuals with a donation of toys and games to foster their creativity and facilitate their learning needs? For every 10 "Likes" we get on Facebook between Sunday, April 14th and Sunday, April 28th, we will donate $10 worth of Melissa & Doug products to the Kennedy Krieger Institute's Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), up to $1,000. We're calling it our Likes 4 Tikes campaign!

Toys and games play a huge role in child development and the promotion of important skills and abilities: Speech and language development, cognitive development, social cues, fine motor and gross motor refinement, and even life skills.

We are excited for the chance to add to the collection of these essential developmental tools at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. But, the amount of toys we give away depends entirely on you so be sure to "Like" our Facebook page and share this post with all your friends and family.

The wonderful staff at Kennedy Krieger and CARD incorporate play into their daily activities with the children and behind the scenes are the doctors and scientists researching groundbreaking advancements in this field. To learn more about the extraordinary efforts of individuals at Kennedy Krieger Institute and how you can join the caring individuals who work and volunteer there, please visit: www.kennedykrieger.org/overview/volunteer.

And remember, the more "Likes" we get, the more toys and games we donate, so be sure to #GetYourShareOn!

We are so excited to announce our "Likes for Tikes" campaign that starts today! In participation with Melissa & Doug and the Kennedy Krieger Institute, we will be giving away some toys! For every 10 likes we get on Facebook between Sunday, April 14th and Sunday, April 28th, we will donate $10 worth of Melissa & Doug toys and games to the Kennedy Krieger Institute, up to $1000.  The amount of toys we give away depends entirely on you so be sure to "Like" our Facebook page and share this post with all your friends and family.
